Healthy vs. Unhealthy Relationships (Rise 360)

Project Overview

I designed this instructional content for adult learners to support reflection and discussion around healthy versus unhealthy relationship dynamics. Built in Articulate Rise 360, the activity uses a simple comparison structure to help learners examine key relationship tenets side by side.

The Problem

Topics related to relationships and boundaries can be challenging to teach effectively. Overly complex interactions can distract from the content, while passive text can limit reflection and meaningful discussion.

The Solution

I used Rise 360’s Pro/Con block to present characteristics of healthy and unhealthy relationships in a clear, comparative format. Rather than positioning the content as a quiz or assessment, the structure encourages learners to pause, reflect, and engage in discussion.

This approach:

  • Keeps cognitive load low
  • Supports facilitated conversation
  • Allows learners to explore sensitive topics without judgment or scoring

Outcome

The final activity provides instructors with a flexible discussion tool that can be used in both guided and self-paced learning environments. The simple structure supports deeper reflection while remaining accessible and easy to adapt for different instructional contexts.
